Job Summary:

With consistent Year on Year growth and to continue with our business strategy, we are looking for a highly motivated, driven, tenacious Area Sales Manager.

This role presents a unique opportunity to work within a supportive environment that has active engagement with our senior business team. The Area Sales Manager will have direct input to influence their strategic direction and have the autonomy to apply your personal style to get the best results for Eccles and your region.

To succeed in this exciting role,  you will need to have great relationships and rapport building skills particularly with builders merchants and contractors. This is a hybrid home and office based role, and you must also have the flexibility to travel and spend occasional nights away from home.

The Area Sales Manager will be expected to manage new leads from initial contact through to order, as well as engaging with large volumes of prospective customers to generate orders, contributing to the company-wide business development initiatives and nurturing and developing relationships with our clients.

Role Profile:

  • Effective day-to-day management and sales development of customers and relationships in their area through consistent and effective communication
  • Be responsible for developing and implementing an Area Business Plan in conjunction with the company’s overall Commercial Strategy.
  • Identify and develop effective and mutually beneficial relationships through Key Account Management with new and existing customers including builders merchants and contractors
  • Full responsibility for management of all accounts in the region, including diversifying into new routes to market
  • Maintain and report sales forecasts by monitoring and following up on tender and order to place enquiries on their pipeline
  • Develop and deliver first class business relationships that increase conversion rates and upselling opportunities
  • Secure product sales in line with area quarterly and yearly targets
  • Liaise with the Internal Sales Team to follow up on customer enquiries on a timely basis, ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Ensure consistent and first-class standards of operation are always adhered to (including, call plans, quotes and pricing etc.)
  • Utilise sales tools to monitor and analysis sales metrics, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing corrective actions to optimise sales performance including CRM, Power BI and Roveel
  • Experienced delivering CPDs and Lunch & Learn workshops


Requirements:

  • A commercially focused RSM with strong entrepreneurial skills and experience of driving profitable bottom-line growth within a manufacturing background (within the civil engineering industry is desirable)
  • Great at building key relationships
  • Previous sales experience is essential, along with a strong track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
  • Business development experience with builders merchants and contractors
  • A passion for delivering excellent customer service and an exceptional talent for building and securing business relationships and influencing key decision makers
  • An excellent communicator who is numerate and possess excellent problem-solving skills
  • Experience of managing budgets and meeting and exceeding KPI expectations
  • Resilient and able to manage your own activities effectively
  • Excellent written and face to face communication skills
  • Area management, negotiation and account management skills
  • Product knowledge isn’t essential, but an understanding of the customer base and industry is preferable
  • Comfortable travelling throughout the region and have a clean driving licence
  • Computer literate
